Our culture

Autonomy, mutual support and transparent communication: discover how our small remote team works together, protects focused time and learns from mistakes.

Autonomy and respect

Management removes obstacles and gives the team autonomy. Everyone owns their work and helps colleagues and clients. We value humility, integrity and common sense.

Our team benefits from differences in culture, religion, age, gender identity, background, opinions, sexual orientation and family circumstances. We hire and promote on merit.

Time to focus

We favour written, asynchronous work, autonomous decisions and focused conversations. Meetings have a purpose, a prepared agenda, written decisions and actions assigned to individuals. Participants can leave once they have made their contribution.

Chat is for short updates, not endless discussions. We protect uninterrupted work and explain technical topics in plain language. Our approach draws on Getting Real, Rework, Basecamp’s internal communication guide, GitLab’s all-remote guide and The Year Without Pants.

Learning from mistakes

When something goes wrong, we communicate honestly, transparently and proactively. We find a solution, address the cause and learn together. “We try, we fail, we fix.”

An international culture

English is our working language for internal documentation, code and tools. Free and open source software is part of our technical culture.
