Your role

You take responsibility for platform stability, security and performance. Working directly with clients, you identify their technical needs and implement lasting solutions.

Half your time goes to daily operations: resolve incidents reported by monitoring and clients, investigate causes and suggest improvements to infrastructure, hosting, application code and databases. The other half goes to preparing, organising and delivering client projects.

Your projects

Load testing and optimisation, CI/CD, new technologies and proofs of concept, automation, auto-scaling, load balancing, seamless migrations, new platforms, staging environments and upgrades: projects vary with client needs.

You work with independent businesses, startups, agencies and large companies that share a need for an available website. We build direct, trusting relationships with them.

The technical stack

Debian, Ubuntu, Apache, HAProxy, Nginx, FPM, Docker, MySQL, MariaDB, Percona, PostgreSQL, Memcache, Redis, PHP, shell, Python, Scaleway, AWS EC2, ELB and EBS, Let’s Encrypt, Ansible, Git, Nagios, WordPress, Drupal and Magento. The team and internal documentation help you learn unfamiliar tools.

Your profile

  • More than 5 years’ experience and knowledge of LAMP web architectures.
  • A willingness to read and write code to understand, automate and monitor.
  • A free and open source software mindset; written and spoken English.
  • A helpful, transparent, responsive and pragmatic approach.
  • Listening skills and patience to explain problems in plain language.

Self-taught, graduate or career changer: we care about what you can do and what you want to do.

On-call duties

A monthly rotation covers seven nights and two days, Saturday and Sunday. On-call work is remote, with another teammate as backup and a flexible rota managed together. You need to receive alerts, be reachable and connect with your laptop within a reasonable time. We aim to keep interventions infrequent by addressing incident causes.

Pay and conditions

  • Published fixed salary: €55,000–70,000 gross per year for full-time employment, depending on your profile, including on-call duties.
  • Permanent French employment contract (CDI) or freelance; full-time or part-time.
  • Employee referral and business introduction bonuses.
  • Advertised probation period: three months.
  • Five weeks of leave, flexible hours and remote work.
  • Occasional client visits, usually in Paris and arranged in advance.
